Romy Parzick, Manager, Innovation and Research

Romy F. Parzick is a Manager, Innovation and Research at the Center for Financial Services Innovation.  In this position, Ms. Parzick leads CFSI’s Compass Principles work, an initiative that provides guidelines and tools for the industry to take a proactive role in providing safe financial services that actively contribute to improving people’s lives.  Ms. Parzick works closely with cross-sector experts to develop strategies that encourage broader marketplace adoption of the Compass Principles framework and philosophy.  

Prior to joining CFSI, Ms. Parzick was Executive Vice President at Self-Help, a leading community development financial institution focused on creating ownership and economic opportunity for those traditionally underserved by conventional markets.  As EVP, she headed the credit union’s North Carolina retail financial services and operations divisions, which successfully integrated 7 mergers within a span of 6 years.  Additionally, Ms. Parzick has previous experience as both a management consultant and an IT consultant.  As a native Spanish-speaker from Peru, Ms. Parzick taught Adult ESL for years, and this volunteer experience compelled her to focus her career on promoting positive change for underserved populations.

Ms. Parzick holds an M.B.A from Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business, and she graduated with University Honors from Carnegie Mellon University with a B.S. in Industrial Management and a minor in French.
