

Jane Thompson, CEO/Founder of Jane Thompson Financial Services LLC, has been named as a Senior Advisor to CFSI in order to provide strategic advice and guidance to the organization. In this capacity, Ms. Thompson will advise CFSI on overall and specific initiatives including CFSI's Compass Principles and consulting business. Additionally, she will facilitate relationships with companies or individuals key to CFSI success, attend and participate in CFSI-sponsored events, and speak or write on behalf of CFSI.
Ms. Thompson brings experience as a recognized leader in corporate America, having successfully lead multi-billion dollar organizations in a variety of consumer industries. She has served at the executive level of Fortune 50 organizations for over two decades and is a recognized innovator whose general management skills have helped to maximize the performance of billion-dollar industry-leading businesses. She also has driven rapid-growth organizations from start-up to industry leadership.
Most recently, Ms. Thompson has been a recognized as a leader in serving the underserved through innovative financial products, services and formats. She founded Walmart Financial Services at Walmart Stores, Inc. and led the group as its President to become the largest business in America serving underserved financial services customers. Customers now save one half billion dollars annually on financial services at Walmart; the business delivers equally meaningful bottom-line profit to Walmart. Ms. Thompson also recently founded Jane J. Thompson Financial Services LLC, whose mission is to support businesses focused on serving the financial services needs of the underserved and mass-market consumer.
Ms. Thompson grew up in West Virginia. She has a BBA from the University of Cincinnati (summa cum laude) and an MBA from Harvard University (Baker Scholar). Her husband, Steve, is president/CEO of a private company focused on curing cancer with research/discovery from Harvard’s Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. They have two children, Baker and Brooke, both pursuing careers in Chicago.
